a stoic atom regarding logos and immutability

All events are determined by the logos, and follow in an unbreakable chain of cause and effect.

The stoics defined free will as a voluntary accommodation to what is in any case inevitable Hays 2003, p.xx.

Whether or not it is inevitable, inside or outside of our control, we choose how we react and how it affects us. This is central to stoicism. Was ancient stoicism so much more explicit with regard to everything being so set in stone? Based on the repeating themes in Meditations, I’m inclined to think so.
