I'm looking at wordgrinder, again, as a possble quick way to start writing without any fuss. What
bothered me most in the past, is that it took about two seconds for the menu to display after
hitting the escape key. It was annoying, and the files it saved had extra bits of stuff other than
your text. Apparently, which I didn't know, you can access the menu items instantly with the
shortcut keys. And if I wanted my file as plain text, I should've been exporting it as plain text. I
think I'm sold on this thing.

@user999 Makes sense. I can definitely see the appeal. Hope it works out! 路 1 month ago

@partly. Let's just say, for now, I'm playing around with it and I don't have a reason to choose it over vim. I saw it available on my pubnix and decided to try it out --especially after getting frustrated on vim with having fat fingers and hitting the wrong keys from time to time. Nano could still be an option. Emacs...not for another few years.
I just needed something, at the time, that was terminal based, and would allow me to free-write without any fuss or distractions. In the end, it's all going to boil down to my preference, regardless of any limitations or advantages. As for writing code, I 'll still use vim. 路 1 month ago

First time hearing of wordgrinder. Seems like it's been around a long time! I'm interested in exploring it but I'm curious, since it's a terminal-based text editor, why choose wordgrinder over others such as vim, emacs, nano? 路 1 month ago

It is next on my to try list as well. Installed Alpine in toolbx today and installed spreadsheet calculator on it.
I still don't know how to properly write formulas in sc, but the navigation is 10x faster than Excel. gB588 for example will jump to cell B588.
Can't wait for wordgrinder. 馃槀 路 1 month ago
