Been using the Bluesky platform that swept me up in the hype. It's better than Twitter/X but that's a low bar. I do think it's more palatable than Mastodon for most as the UX of that platform and the exposure of the decentralisation aspect to users is cryptic for the majority. No idea if I'll keep using it though; I can't help but think using Microblogging to discuss complex topics like politics and whatnot that people seem to enjoy doing is inherently flawed.

I'm not kidding when I say Gemini is the only social media I use. 路 1 month ago

I'm on both Bluesky and Mastodon but not really active on either... aside from Gemini, most of my online social activity has shifted to Nostr actually 路 1 month ago

I think the inherent flaw with all social media platforms, is that they are exactly that, social media. The odds of them ever being anything more than a social meeting place is very slim.
Plus there is the whole corporate greed thing that inevitably gets involved, because any SOME with significant following, is a cash cow for data mining.
The whole "decentralised" schtick is also tired by now, people need to stop beating a dead horse and open a dictionary.

bluesky is more interaction friendly than mastodon but i feel like a lot of features that mastodon intentionally left out weew left out for a reason. i can see bluesky either breaking under the pressure of new users or becoming exactly like twitter was before musk mase it even worse tbh 路 1 month ago
