So I see we can host audio files (podcasts?) in Gemspace, I tried to play some, i see an embedded media player bar appear in Kristall yet it does not play the files, not sure why, maybe the actual files that are being linked to no-longer exist? How do I check that?

@ruby_witch i tend to forget that all of this is still very beta. It's probably because everything else works so damn nice that my neurons expect this to work as well. It looks like this is a good moment to say THANK YOU to all the hackers who made this possible. 路 1 year ago

@maxheadroom In Lagrange it'll just play a music stream directly in the browser when you click on it. I haven't used Kristall but it sounds like it may not be compatible with those kinds of streams yet? 路 1 year ago

@ruby_witch hasnix.club shows an embedded mediaplayer rocketCaster.xyz does not... i don't know what the difference is but maybe you can figure it out? It it as easy as uploading a mp3 or ogg file and linking to that? 路 1 year ago

You can use the "gg" tool that comes with gmid Gemini server, it's wget-like. It returns 1 when the target file doesn't exist, but I think that it might be dependant on the software the server uses. 路 1 year ago

Here, try some of the links on Rocketcaster, they work great for me in Lagrange. That way you can see if these at least work for you: gemini://rocketcaster.xyz/ 路 1 year ago
