Most ISPs I've used only did that charging you extra or didn't have that option at all, the worst part is that none of them supported IPv6 either β€”Β that's why I'm never letting go the one I have now. Β· 8 months ago

Usually you can request a public IP if they shove you behind a NAT. Usually it doesn't cost extra. Β· 8 months ago

Maybe your new ISP doesn't provide you with externally reachable IP-address. I think it's actually quite rare these days. A absolutely adore my ISP for not only giving me such an address for no extra charge, but also for (almost) not filtering the traffic on the incoming ports. Β· 8 months ago
