@m0xee that sounded like a fun time! haha. But I'm working on a condensed version of Linux From Scratch; I have no practical reason for having the latest kernel for my little install. it's all for fun! Β· 2 months ago

Last time I had to build a custom kernel was when my router got fried, I needed a computer with two network interfaces to replace it temporarily, but as I didn't want to risk plugging ISP cable into my workstation, I've found an olde PCMCIA ethernet adapter and plugged it into old ThinkPad instead. Turned out default Void kernel had no support for it and I had to build a custom one.

Otherwise I'm perfectly fine with default configuration Void uses for kernels.Β I've stopped updating at 6.10 though β€”Β it's only support for newer hardware that gets added nowadays, but all my hardware is so old that I don't see the point in using newer kernels πŸ€·β€ Β· 2 months ago
