Preparing a bit for what is to come in Europe with this orange baboon at the helm in the USA now. Got plenty water, water filters, plenty fuel and a heater, petrol lamp, lots of canned and dry foods, power (105Ah battery), dc-dc converter for the appliances, solar panel and blankets. Feeling a little bit better prepared. What is your approach?

I don't think you need to worry much, the big problems we will see, will be economical. The EU is acutely aware, they are on thin ice with their citizens.

Getting to know the folks in my local community, mostly through volunteering at a desaster response agency. I think if SHTF, the folks around me (and personal preparedness as you outlined) will be my best chance of survival.

Also, I've got a well oiled bicycle with a collection of spare parts that's enough to essentially build a second one, and enough consumables to probably last a lifetime because I don't want to rely on roads being travellable or gas being available. · 2 months ago

@fripster regular stuff for people living in the outback. i have a creek in my garden, 300 meters to the next river, lot of fish in there. food for about 9-12 month for living. firewood for about 1-2 years. MREs in my shelter and some other stuff.. better prepared than sorry. · 2 months ago
