There is a lot of good advice about protecting your data and privacy here, but unfortunately most people (including myself) like to be comfortable. And it's hard to give up comfort. I have no mainstream social media account and do not use gmail and already I am an outlier with even doing the bare minimum to be mindful about my data. Apps and services used to track people are also pretty damn convenient unfortunately.

And outside the use of technology, not being compliant is also really uncomfortable. I write this with no judgement as I can absolutely understand why anyone would choose to be left alone rather than provoke authority. ยท 2 months ago
