gmi has a specific format for preformatted text including ASCII art with an alternate text to describe the image, e.g. the space station image shows Space Station when you hover with the mouse over it. A screen reader could do the same and not handle the ascii image and just read the description 路 2 years ago

from what i understand one of the perks of the gemini protocol in contrast to eg gopher is that preformatted text is actually tagged as such. In Lagrange, for example, you have the option to auto-collapse preformatted text so only the description is shown. 路 2 years ago
