studying and thinking and working and thinking and reading and thinking again and working and thinking over and over !!!! does your brain ever go quiet?? I’m starting to get tired of constantly being at a million places at once // at the same time, I feel like it’s exactly how I want to be. curious. πŸ‘½

I do that from time to time. There's a lot of great things to learn. The medieval Christians called it "curiosity" when chasing after a million things at once. It's supposed to turn into "study" when you're capable of directing your focus. All told, either is fun. Wonder is good for the heart. Β· 7 months ago

I always got the impression that this is what the Chassidic persuit was. Always aware on the look out for the divine around you. Always ready to do mitzvah, to make 100 blessings a day. Always the next time of day for X to be done. I had a more liberal study partner who was like, "that sounds exhausting," and I was like yeah I don't remember any promise to the contrary. I also grew up reading Japanese Zen works and found Soto and periods of deliberate not doing were also exhausting but worth it. "Face the wall," as is said. We must face what bubbles up within, and we must learn to swim/surf what is outside us. Β· 7 months ago
