choosing a name

the way i chose warren /wɔɹɨn/ was by looking through the top 1000 last names in the us, then checking if it pairs well with my actual surname. most names in a first name list are unappealing, whether from being ill-fitting, cringe, or in use by people i know. mythological, cultural, ethnic, and object names are also too bizarre for me. i want to be normal in the name aspect, and using a surname as a first name is a great way to be unconventional while still in the range of normal. although warren is also considered a first name. but i didn't have that in mind when searching.

warren is also a word, with quite a few meanings.

1: a place legally authorized for keeping small game (such as hare or pheasant)

2a (1): an area (as of uncultivated ground) where rabbits breed

3a: a crowded tenement or district

3b is the meaning i like the most.
