it's really interesting how lgbt people can be drawn to each other before they ever realize that they themselves are lgbt. while this is really common online, there's a ton of anecdotes about this happening in real life friend groups. they might've been in an outcast friend group and lost touch. then years later, they checked up on [insert social media] and wham! the person they thought their friend was was just the mask they put up to avoid any conflicts (the volleys of abuse and bullying that many face), while they carried their real self inside, only letting it out when it was safer to. an undercover agent. or, during school days, they revealed it to each other. confidants, developing their sense of self together. or countless other experiences, good or bad, meaningful or mundane. where we just unknowingly congregate.
in that record label server, 2 mods have come out as trans girls/fems, one 2 days ago and the other today. it's wild because:
he/him -> not bothering to list -> they/them -> they/them she/her
it makes me think of that one timeline meme, the 2017-2021 one that people caption with albums, programming languages, all sorts of weird-but-true things.
to come out is a really personal and meaningful decision. that shouldn't be discounted. but once you see enough of them, a sense of humor develops.
hehe i just recommended bica and cypro as an anti-androgen instead of spiro in that server. these ppl will have the smallest testosterone levels! so awesome!

update mar 23, 2022: 3 other mods have changed to they/them, 1 from any pronouns into she/her, and the #3 i pointed out originally? only she/her now. all mods. incredible. they've all been in this server for 2 years now, but these events are all within one month. years of vinyl, minidisc, and wax cylinder collection really making people realize who they are.
