Do we over time build smaller somewhat walled gardens within geminispace, where groups of like minded hang out, similar to the mastodon fediverse?

I realise that there's a significant difference between a walled community and a curated feed reader but the rise of subscription support in Gemini clients gives me so much hope.

It's been two weeks since I looked at CAPCOM or Spacewalk because I've been adding sites to my subscriptions right inside Amfora. I love it. I know that some people love Atom feeds and others do not, but the ability to subscribe to pages and say "let me know when the sha256 of this pages content changes" is great. I think some reasonably popular early web browsers even had this feature, before server-side rendered HTML made every page updated all of the time.

Maybe part of the answer is to maintain your own, personal, Dunbar number-sized community?
