Today, I visited my old primary school in Belfast.
They were having an open event for former pupils as, after almost a century of operation, the school is closing and relocating to new, modern building a little further down the road.
The building is listed and will remain on the site. It's a part of local history, with its share of famous alumni, and having acted as a bomb shelter during the second world war.
It was great to be able to wander down those narrow corridors again, and look out through the tiny windows into the quad (where we were never alowed to play!). I found my old P7 (age 10/11) classroom, and what used to be the computer room filled with BBC micros. They had a few old photos available to view and I even found one my P2 (age 5/6) class! There were many familiar faces of staff and pupils in those photos, even if some of the names had slipped my mind in the 40-plus years since they were taken.
Let's hear it, one last time, for the Class of '84!
