My own gemini server!

After a sleepless night reading about gemini (note to self read boring stuff when trying to sleep), I dove in today. That's three firsts in one day already!

Forked and modified a rust project

I can't pretend I understand rust but I did have some playful exposure to it some time ago. Wanting to run my own gemini server I tried gemserv and noticed ugly 0 characters in my log files, so I went out and tried to fix it.

Created and sent a patchset on sourcehut

Yes, one of those email patchsets, no PR on something like github but the real deal on sourcehut. It was a lot more pleasant than I imagined upfront!

Installed gemserv

Well, I installed my patched version of gemserv. You're probably reading this from that service.
