Like everyone else with one of these things, I've been using the web less and less over the last few years. And the instant I got a gemini server working, I could practically feel my last bit of interest in the web evaporate.
Well, no, that's not entirely fair; sometimes you need to look up a song or something. But still, it feels like I've found (or rather, built) an escape pod that I can use when the web finally becomes uninhabitable. Google and Amazon can buy up the whole thing; all my important posts will be on the other thing.
The use of names like "pod" and "capsule" feels significant here, but I don't know that there's enough for a whole post. But where the hell else does this observation go?
