πŸ” Coquet, July 2021

The Coquet valley is one of my favourite places. Drove up on Saturday afternoon. Late hike up Windy Gyle. Wasn't feeling great and visibility was poor but all fine. Anxious night in the van as no camping but very remote. Woke to unfussed farmer and his wife driving sheep past in the morning. Drove to the very end of the road to explore the roman camps and medieval village. Stopped by the Coquet on the way back to sunbathe. Painted a tiger: first ink over watercolour, part of a project for the William Blake poem. Stopped for a drink at the Rose & Thistle, Alwinton on the way home as the weather closed in.
