Something about using Node JS to create a native mobile application just feels dirty to me.
I'll be on a team developing an Android/iOS app using React Native for the next year and I've just started to get my environment set up. That initial step took some time, but once it was done I was poking around and making changes to the starter template to see how it worked. I can say right away that I like the idea of not having to think about separate Android and iOS apps. But something still feels weird? Maybe I'm just cautious about so many parts of the app building process being hidden away.
I don't know, I haven't spent enough time with it. In any case, learning about new technologies is always exciting. I suppose this might become some sort of ongoing series as I dive into things more.
