I especially love that part.

That said, that I ever believed anything in "the news" now astounds me. It was simply "a given" for so many decades. From one point of view, getting older seems an accelerated succession of loss of "givens", to the point were it seems obvious the oft-repeated phrase "is Mind-Only" in The Lankavatara Sutra really nails the whole thing of seeming being imprisoned in an individuality separate from all else and purely a conceptuality/representation/modeling issue.
