@Dudebro @sendpaws It’s so inundated with shills it’s sad. And they don’t make good posts they just spam. It makes me think the mods are involved or you could just peel all of them away for being low-effort. It really picked up after 8chan went down and I think that’s no coincidence.

The shilling problem is so bad that even on completely non-political boards there are blatant shill threads that try to astroturf interest in commercial products among other things. The jannies aren't doing anything about it so we can bet 4chan is accepting money from various companies and organizations to permit their shilling on there.

I don't think it flew too close to the sun at all, it was always a honeypot, first for people who post cp and then for people who say politically naughty things. What's been said and done on 4chan is often orders of magnitude "worse" than anything on Kiwifarms, yet ISPs and domain providers dropped Kiwifarms multiple times, while not even once dropping 4chan. That should tell you a lot.
