SF Messenger is held together with strings. CHANGE MY MIND.

@HerveRenault trying to use it to dynamically create transports etc and add some way to get a connanical overview of the configuration. but everything is based on configuration which gets processed by DI which depends on string references to tie things together.

What I'm missing is some concrete metadata that says how the system will behave... it's just strings and arrays all the way down.

@dantleech @HerveRenault I wonder if that's part of the friction I feel using it? I'll have to add it to the list in any event. :)

@beausimensen @HerveRenault I don't know, it's hard to describe my frustrations with it. It's great at some things, and other things not so much.

@dantleech @beausimensen @HerveRenault The thing that bothers me the most (if it is still the case, did not check) is that it uses PHP's internal serialization, which makes it absolutely useless in combination with services written in other languages. I've read that you can configure it differently, but that feels like an odd default choice to me.

@danrot @beausimensen @HerveRenault that kinda makes sense though as it's a standalone component. Switching to the SF serializer is just a config setting. Agree it's a nasty format though 😂

@dantleech @beausimensen @HerveRenault I don't think that this makes sense for a component that is built to work with views. Anybody could listen to those queues, now it is just anybody using PHP (which also happens to have that class in their project). Seems very odd to me, at the very least the default configuration when using the full framework could be different.
