I'm on a national committee that bridges the ocean and atmospheric science communities to facilitate research on ocean-atmosphere interactions and their role in marine biogeochemical cycles. Our weekly meetings have been put on hold to ensure we don't violate Trump's EO on DEI. 🙄

That is a very tough spot you find yourself in. You carefully elided who canceled the meetings which is understandable at this point. Thank you for sharing what is going on with your group. Did the canceler of the meetings indicate what they expected the enforcement mechanism of the EO to be? Is there a time frame for "on hold" like did they tell you to expect an update in x days/weeks or just open ended? Good luck! And nevermind if too much stress or not enough time to respond.
