@coriander i do think it's funny that in a game where you rip out your teeth and cut out your eye in an attempt to survive a game for your life against a a mysterious adversary cloaked in darkness, knowing that if you fail you'll not only be killed but that you won't be the last, the scariest thing that happens is a big corporation sending lawyers after a youtuber

@monorail I know this probably isn't what you're talking about, but I think a fundamentally interesting requirement for horror games/movies/anything is that,

there are parts without horror.

how else is it going to scare/disgust/take you by surprise, if it doesn't lull you into security

it's an interesting part of the genre, really

i've seen a lot of interesting parallels drawn between horror and comedy. and you can't have a movie that's all punchlines

@monorail all my favorite horror movies are comedies
