@jackmjenkins Because making public arrests at churches makes non-citizens afraid to show up at their churches, which further isolates them from their communities. That, in turn, makes it harder for communities to make personal connections to immigrants, which increases their vulnerability.
The same rationale applies to arrests made at schools. The point is to break community solidarity.
