Who wants to come and cut starters off our blackberries? They have thorns.
Every year, we take cuttings and are making a thorn fence around our home. We let them grow wild but three to five feet wide or so around the perimeter of our small lot property line.
We started trellising and maintaining nice thorn bushes under certain windows to keep peepers and thieves out. Sadly, we have both in our neighborhood.

@paul good idea. Of course, around here we spend about half our waking lives trying to keep blackberries from taking over the world. They really do have a taste for blood.

@grechaw same. They get a deep cutting every year, almost starting from zero, and our intention is to coral them a bit to maintain them but let them keep a little wildness.
The local agriculture group at the junior and high school should be coming soon to take the cuttings for their spring plant sale of the perimeter plants.
If they ever stop that we'll have to get rid of them😉
