It looks like KDE is also off X/Twitter. That may be old news, though.

Salut Nick, and a big thank you upfront for your linux news updates which make tedious technobabble both accessible and enjoyable (you have your charms).
please could do something on AV specific desktops in the future (AVLinux, UbuntuStudio, etc)?
as you do AV on linux constantly, you are well placed to advise newbies to the field as to where to start.
i want to make music on linux (midi etc) but find the whole pipewire/pulse/alsa/jack mess a total shitemare.
merci bien!

3:10 Where does the $24,000 number come from? That is a disgusting monthly price. For 11 dedicated servers, storage, electricity, and internet? A 1Gb plan is capable of providing 324TB (2,592Tb)/month. That satisfies the internet connection cost at under $200/mo. Per apartments.com, avg. national price for a studio apt. is $1,555, but freedesktop.org already has headquarters. Perhaps I am mistaken on how much server equipment costs, but that amount is like a 5-year 12.46% loan at $1,070,000 loan. And after those 5 years, freedesktop.org would at least own the hardware. I find it unlikely that they use over a million dollars of server equipment. I also assume they'd get a better rate than 12.46%, which is the average personal loan rate according to bankrate.com.
