There are a LOT of USlibs right now who are trying to shut down fractious political shit because it just "adds fuel to the fire".

Because they are incapable of understanding that conflict is the result of other factors, not the problem in and of itself. To them, there is no problem if there is no conflict, and so they spend all of their energy targeting the people they've decided started the conflict.

It's always leftists, because these people have zero insight into anything.

Well, and we're the scapegoats because we're the ones demanding an alternative to this "lesser evil" rightward ratchet system, and it's KEY to the system's strategy that we all be kept convinced at all times there IS no alternative. Accepting the premise that the two party system is inescapable turns it into a self-fulfilling prophecy. Third party voters and nonvoters have to be demonized at all costs, to keep the status quo scam going.

@violetmadder @johnzajac The two-party system is a result of first-past-the-post, winner-take-all. It leads to a zero-sum system. This is why ranked choice, instant runoff voting is so powerful -- and why they're desperate to make sure it never happens.

Yep! We'll never see the Democratic Party put effort into advocating any kind of ranked choice voting, when they'd much rather double down on voter suppression with the spoiler effect.
