yo AI fucking sucks

but making a pipeline of recording a meeting, automatically transcribing it and then summarizing it all with locally installed AI is a fucking gamechanger and would quite literally make activism and most volunteer ran organisation a Lot easier

@bram I've read that ai doesn't "summarize " so much as shorten. It can skip vital info and context.

@dbat yeah definitely, but as any volunteer for an org would know: so do humans lol

again, i am Thoroughly against AI as a concept, as a product, etc

but this problem can actually by solved by it, if with some tweaking.

Especially if you have the summary and the full transcript below to look for specific details

it's still a lot quicker than having someone take minutes, having to stop the conversation to wait until everything is written down, etc

@bram yeah. It's one of the "glamours" of llm ai. A lot of people say never! but this one thing ooooh.

I'd love it for help with my aphatasia. I shall wait until it's ethical or I'm not here anymore 🤗

@bram AI has its uses IMO, my main gripe is the unethical use of training data.

That said, transcribing is definitely something that AI could help with, and Vibe works very well: https://github.com/thewh1teagle/vibe

It can also do the summary with Ollama

(Can't vouch for the source of training data though)

@vnen yeah bad morals fueled by capitalism have kinda ruined it mostly i agree, whether its the training data or the energy usage ✨
