Ok, here's the answer:

Of course it's an adapter to power a fan from 5v USB, I am using the fan to cool my Raspberry Pi cluster that is right now crunching BOINC.

@mikolasan from what I see on Wikipedia, they did not find anything yet, they stopped sending work, and instead are (were?) focusing on analyzing the data internally.
