AOC responded on X. “I represent LaGuardia Airport as well as workers for JFK. Trump gutted the Aviation Safety committee last week,” she wrote. “Air traffic controllers—already understaffed—got Trump’s ‘buyout’ this week with a 1 week ultimatum to decide. It’s not DEI—it’s him. And Elon too.” https://newrepublic.com/post/190969/aoc-trump-lies-dc-plane-crash

@notes Jeez, I wish she'd quit the Dems. Socialists need a candidate with name recognition.

@notes @munin AOC becomes ferocious when Dems have no power but quiet as a mouse when they do. A duopoly does a better job of manufacturing consent than a dictatorship and this is part of that illusion of opposition. This is shepherding. Use the quote but not the source, imo.

@notes Nothing will change until Republican Senators grow spines.

Once upon a time, there was a Republican Senator from Oregon named Wayne Morse. He was first elected in 1944. When Eisenhower picked Nixon as his running mate, Morse left the GOP and became an independent.

He became a Democrat in 1955. And he continued to vote his conscience until he left the Senate in 1968. If someone like Nicole Shanahan had threatened to primary him, he would have said, "Bring it on!"

She is such a disappointment.

No wonder DSA pulled their endorsement.

Wrong move. She fell right into the trap set by Trump, the "blame game".

Good point. I think keeping the balance between blame and identifying the contributing factors is tricky. She may have shared her knowledge about that particular workforce too soon.

Donald Trump and President Musk's fake illegal buyout to govt workers. He knows few are dim enough to accept it and leave. They sent it out to say, "Look how reasonable I am" - a conclusion they would never test or pass. It's prelude to mass firings.
