"Secluded to forest margins of major river systems, the Tasmanian Azure Kingfisher (Ceyx azureus subsp. diemenensis) is listed as endangered under both the Threatened Species Protection Act 1995 and Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act 1999. Fewer than 250 mature birds are now believed to exist, with the loss of habitat through clearing of riverine vegetation being the primary cause." - Extract from the 2025 calendar.🌿
