That idea obviously started with a Musk suggestion to fire them all. But that's not quite so easy to do within federal employment laws and regulations, so they had to modify it a bit.

For anyone considering taking the buyout, my question is, Why should anyone believe that he will uphold his end of the bargain? Even if you got it in writing, I wouldn't believe for a second you'll get that pay. If it was a real offer it would be a lump sum. Don't fall for it.
