I fricken LOVE the Supernote e-paper tablet for writing... AND I love Obsidian for my knowledge management!

Naturally, I HAD to find a way to LINK them.

@indubitablyodin I use Kobo Elipsa for similar stuff. But since no play store no way to link with my Joplin which I use instead of Obsidian. This hits so hard - “As someone who has always struggled to find confidence in the knowledge he possesses, this idea of a tool that could help me make sense of my life seemed almost mystical.”

@anarchyinc Thanks for reading! It's always neat learning when my experience connects to what someone else has been feeling. I also wonder if the side-loading method I described for the Supernote could work for the Kobo?

@indubitablyodin The Kobo OS is actually Linux, and I believe there are some projects working on adding functionality. I haven’t looked into it deeply, but now I will. Obsidian is super slick! But, I have a love for Joplin and it works pretty well for me everywhere else. Linux, MacOS, iOS, and PC. Thanks for making me think about this!

@anarchyinc Joplin is great software, I definitely have a soft spot for it, especially since it's open source. I wish there were an open-source alternative to Obsidian that I liked, but none of the existing projects match its functionality or design principles.

I didn't know that Kobo was Linux-based! That's really neat. I would love to have a fully-featured e-paper tablet capable of running all my normal software just... using e-ink. Might have to pick up a used Kobo to play with now. 😁

@indubitablyodin Kobo does have really good OCR and a double tap turns your hand writing into a txt file which I can export to Dropbox from the device and import that way. But, damn it would be so nice to just have Joplin on the device. (Mad hacker typing as the research continues)
