@logo @eWalthert Exceeded the rate limit repeatedly when I was opening bunches of accounts to verify and add to lists within a very short period of time. The waiting period was one to maximum five minutes before Mastodon let me continue with the next group.

“The Mastodon API has a rate limit of 300 calls per 5 min as default. It prevents attacks against the backend otherwise it will decrease the website speed for all users.

If a user has multiple tabs open in his browser with your Mastdon instance, then multiple calls reaching the backend. This behaviour will trigger the rate limit.”
