A friend was just like, "ohh goddd the fucking news" and asked if I wanted to get the cliff notes on what happened and I was like, "nope"

Basically, it's not really worth it to me anymore to pay attention to the clown show, unless:

• They do something that specifically necessitates my immediate action

• We are at war (or are likely to be soon, e.g. China invades Taiwan)

• It's especially hilarious

I've chosen to interpret "Do not obey in advance" to also mean that I don't preemptively cede my attention and energy to these fuckwads unless it's absolutely necessary.

I think you would enjoy Sartre’s Being and Nothingness.

He was part of the resistence in France and he nailed the Existential Phenomenology of The Collaboration with The Nazis.

Laurence Durrell almost does the same in novel form in the Avignon Quintet.

@malcircuit that is wise. I have also saved myself much suffering by narrowing my attention to things I might be able to respond to. It took much trial and error to get here.
