Working with a student, and we're trying to research for a project. Wow, research is so much harder these days, especially knowing what sites to trust and then trying to type the right combination of words to get valid and useful sites. I don't envy students these days.

Now, I could do kick butt papers... and have, because it's all there at your fingertips. You don't need to depend on some other human on for your info, or outdated books.

We have the ability to do now what I never dreamed of being able to do when I was in school. And because of that, we now have to work for our research instead of having others do the heavy lifting for us. It's just another skill, and one which most people are perfectly capable of acquiring, blindness alone has nothing to do with it.

When I was in school, we were shut out from doing keyword searches of any kind. The closest I got was when I could ask the Department of Education for a specific volume of the Worldbook Encyclopedia, then wait several week to a month or two for them to ship the machine and the appropriate volume to me.

Again, these people will very often push in the right direction even if they can't help with the particular issue.
