"not everyone can drop their child off at the library" and my first thought was "but they can just go themselves right :neocat_confused:" but then I remembered that in most countries and especially the US kids are basically fully dependent on their parents for transportation
more independent kids grow up into more independent adults imo

I was really glad to see urban design pointed out as a culprit in the Anxious Generation book since kids aren't really given an alternative to being chronically online if they'll get hit by a car outside.

@syn@plasmatrap.com the closest library to me for reference from my house is 3.8 miles. A majority of that has zero side walks and you’re going to be walking on the side of backroads
