Working with a student, and we're trying to research for a project. Wow, research is so much harder these days, especially knowing what sites to trust and then trying to type the right combination of words to get valid and useful sites. I don't envy students these days.

@gtbray @Bruce @Mendi_Tech There, I agree. Search engines are less useful by the day. However, databases are still quite useful. How long that will last, though, is an open question.

@techsinger @gtbray @Mendi_Tech Search engines are still very useful, as long as you approach every set of search engine results with a healthy does of skeptisim, always follow the money, and unless a source is extremely trustworthy, always look for another.

@Bruce @gtbray @techsinger No sir. I've always cross checked things. I was very spoiled when I was in college though, as our library had nice subscriptions to academic resources.

@Mendi_Tech @Bruce @gtbray Many of the public libraries now have access to those databases. Some will give cards, or temporary cards, to people outside their area, too.
