We may need pet insurance to cover a visit with a specialist for our cat, Chutney.

Does anyone have experience with this?

@mhannon my knowledge is US based, so this might not apply elsewhere, but most (possibly all) pet insurance policies don't cover preexisting conditions, and I believe many also have a waiting period before anything is covered. If anyone knows of any policies that cover preexisting conditions, I'd love to know!

@amandathraen Thanks Amanda. I just spoke with a Trupanion rep who confirmed the restriction on pre-existing conditions.

@mhannon With pet insurance, the younger the pet the better your rates

But regardless, I've been using HealthyPaws for my dog and it's been great, I get my claims within the week
