Well #Section31 was certainly a movie. I had hopes for a "Star Trek is a place" spy or heist variant but this was an incomplete attempt at that. Still #StarTrek but poorly executed.

I liked some parts but the production hell made the plot not make a lot of sense. My bigger issues were them picking my least favorite Disco director (shakeycam Osunsami) who can't use a tripod or hold a shot to highlight Michelle Freakin' Yeoh kicking butt, and the extremely annoying Fuzz acting choices.

I also think they used way too much of the production design style of future Disco such that it didn't look like roughly TOS era anymore (not even in an updated SNW way). Balenciaga being in the credits is wild too, because of that one video. 😆

Garrett was a fun nod to "Yesterday's Enterprise" but was kinda Lower Decksish, like she was in a different Trek show.

I'll have to think about ordering of movies... but this doesn't even have favorite characters to help it like V or Nemesis.

I just... who in that long list of executive/co/supervising/consulting producers all agreed this was ready and said "Ship it!"?

I really really tried to give it a chance but oof.

@ultranurd how many episodes did they shoot before they downgraded it to a movie? It felt like just about everything from Planet Fireswamp was shoehorned in from some unrelated episode. If everything we saw was originally intended as a two-episode pilot, then wow, that show was not gonna be good.
