I started reading DUNE last night. While not a purely dystopian work, this passage resonated with that remark:

I'm only on Chapter 3, so I've only seen the term mentioned. π
(Although I did ponder about Herbert's use of the term "jihad" long before it became part of the common vernacular and how many readers back upon release were familiar with it.)
