Is there a way as a pod to signal to kubernetes that the pod is doing a long running job and that kubernetes should defer all updates, restarts, and other not force delete actions until the pod clears the mutex?

@cadey I guess the way to do so would be to run the pod as job. A pod running this way will never be bothered and will be allow to run til its completion.
