A small exercise in Digital Archaeology.

Un Dimanche aux Puces (1994)

Beginning of the 90’s, I was experimenting a lot with interactive multimedia using Macromind Director, video and my mac.

I programmed this small linear composition exploiting stamp size quicktime videos, trying to do a video montage without a video editor.

It shows my Sunday walks to the flea market in Brussels and to a nearby popular cafe (La Puce)

End of 2024 I was very upset that so many popular pubs have closed in Brussels (Daringman, Clef d’Or, la Brocante,…), so I decided to resurrect this 1994 project as a video, an homage to Martine the owner of La Puce and the now dead Daringman.

@julien le marché est toujours bien là, y a des bistrots plus branchés, plus chers, plus lents,… C’est triste, il reste le Chineur qui a d’ailleurs racheté la maison où se trouvait La Clef d’Or ce qui a entraîné sa fermeture.
