From 98c to 76c Hotspot temperature makes my little afternoon #pc #graphicscard fix well worth the hour it took to figure out how to take it apart and change the cooling paste. Way less noisy now during #gaming too, nice bonus.
the issue was, i think, poor application by either the previous owner or actually from the factory. Parts of the chip wasnt covered properly, paste was half-dry and maybe not best quality? no clue about the latter, but this is the fancy Noctua paste stuff.

@nbhansen That's crazy good :D I need to repaste my 6950 XT too, although it's not the craziest temp wise, I think it's in the lower 90's if I could make it a little quieter, that would be lovely.

@kimleo85 ah yes thats a proper card, little brother RX 6800 isnt as aggressive as that one :) and not near as fast though still a pretty great card. I only play in 1080p anyway so it can probably last me a long time unless i start going for raytracing

@nbhansen Yeah there's a bit of a difference, but tbh. the current pricing of video cards, even used ones I would be happy with either, before this I had a Fury X, and it was only the vram causing me to want to upgrade.
