My barber says she wouldn’t consider an EV because battery replacement is an expensive risk. She doesn’t realize how often ICE motors fail and was unaware of the GM pickup/SUV V8 debacle. GM is on the hook to replace 875,000 V8 engines on NHTSA recall for a lubrication design flaw that causes connecting rod bearing failure and the occasional busted block.
Replacing an engine with a new crate motor is a $21,000 repair.
