@Grrr to conclude the U.S.A. has been de facto a plutocracy for decades. Just look at how very little variation was allowed in the political elite. Apart in the obvious declaration of intentions, none of the most flagrant problems aggravating the masses was addressed by either political party. With the ever increasing concentration of wealth it was only a matter of time for the existential threat to a working democracy to be realized. With G. W. Bush at the latest.
