Latest Space Virgins podcast is up for anyone who wants some premium #PeerTube exclusive #scifi based content. Not sure about this thumbnail, but I guess they can't all be bangers. Episode is a good-un though.

@ChrisWere I'd be up for compulsory voting as well, but only if it becomes required that there is a "None of the above" option on the ballot.

@pennywhether @ChrisWere I think spoiling your ballot covers that option. What's needed is proportional representation. A much better system than #FPTP.

@dj_cthulhu @ChrisWere In that case, I'd want spoiled ballots to be a mandatory reported metric. So it could be party 1 has X% of the vote, party 2 has Y% and so forth, then Z% spoiled. Make sure the media reports that part so the victor can't say they have a clear mandate. Also, I think don't think most people think to spoil a ballot and would feel forced to vote for someone. If they see "None of the Above" they would take that instead of holding their nose and voting when they feel forced.

@pennywhether @dj_cthulhu @ChrisWere I think these are all good ideas. I think amount spent on campaigning should also be a feature of election results.
Here's the 2024 UK general election as a percentage of the total UK electorate rather than popular vote. The numbers in brackets are the percentage of seats in the commons they got from that.
None of the above: 40% (0%)
Labour: 17% (63%)
Tories: 12% (18%)
Reform: 7% (<1%)
Lib Dems: 6% (11%)
Green: 3% (<1%)
SNP: 1% (1%)
