DAY 3

--thursday--

We woke up very early, around 5am. My clock is still wonky after all the travelling, and I still have a bit of jet lag which is manifesting mostly by a drop in energy around 5pm.. but it's nowhere as bad as it has been on past trips. We spent some time chatting, edging, and planning the day before getting up and having breakfast.

We popped past Tesco again to pick up the needle tips for my insulin pens because I forgot to pack them, as well as a chicken to roast for dinner. We got bubble tea on the way home, mine was strawberry and lime with passionfruit popping bubbles, and Greg got a coffee. It was nice to be out and having a bit of a walk, but the weather is chilly and rainy here, and I'm acclimatised to Australian summer at the moment.

Once we got back home we planned to have a nap. Greg's wife had been in South Africa for the past week, organising her mother's funeral.. and she arrived back last evening. Greg wanted to nap before the drive to Heathrow, but we ended up in another edging session.

He has one of those little click tally counter, and has been using it to keep track of how many edges he's had.. it was fun to be the one pressing the button. We chatted about some people he's been chatting with on an edging server, who are interested in playing with him, and one who is interested in chatting with me. They sound nice, and I think it'll be great fun to watch him top someone else.

He left to pick up his wife and the friend she travelled to South Africa with, and left me with instructions for roasting the chicken. Once they got home, we all chatted a little and ate dinner (roast chicken and salad), before heading to bed. We didn't play last night because he was too tired from driving.

It's lovely to have his wife back home, and I'm looking forward to our weekend plans.
