@collabora isn't MediaTek still a very poor choice for custom roms on android? They used to be very unfriendly to developers and not used to opensource their kernel source and device trees. Has the situation improved yet?

@surendrajat Quite the contrary. MediaTek devices already have unlockable bootloaders and many Android Custom ROMs are available thanks to VNDK and GSI support, as are Kernel sources for Android devices. We have also been actively working with MediaTek on upstreaming support for their Kompanio (Chromebooks) & Genio (IoT) SoCs!
