I've used Scruff, Hornet, and currently only use Grindr. Since I live in a small town, it's not very busy. Here, it's common to experience ghosting and taps from people who are very far away, and occasionally insults from some right-wing lunatic who blocks me right after. And I don't know if it happens to you, but it seems like guys wait for you to go offline to send taps or reply your messages.

@bacchusrouge I feel like the fact that we receive more stuff when "offline" is at least partly engineered by the app or a bug

@ghighi I've thought that this might be designed by the software, and other friends experience this too. But I don't know if Grindr's engineering is similar to Instagram or TikTok, which are true machines for keeping us online. It seems like users prefer not to engage in unproductive conversations at inconvenient times.

@bacchusrouge Grindr, Growlr, Tinder.

Growlr worked in my case the best as I am a bear and my husband was hunting for bears so we soon became a match.

Grindr was a major flop, as I only found guys that wanted to get a piece of warm flesh to help them masturbate their cock into.

Tinder was totally useless, as gays around where I live don't use it.

@SirMaci I never used Growlr, in Brazil, it's a desolate land. It's an inconsistency, I think. Bears are so beloved, but there aren't many hairy guys around here. Many don't identify as such and prefer to shave.

@SirMaci Tinder is a neoliberal heteronormative setback. How can an app's purpose be to consume your time with matches and mismatches game instead of showing a grid and allowing people to chat right away?
